I would like to tell you about my native place, as I’m really fond of this place.

My native place is the township of Zhemchuzhny (поселек/агрогородок).

I’ve lived there since I was born. It’s a very convenient place to live in because its a surrounded by nature and not far from the town. Our settlement is situated in Baranovichi district, Brest region. Zhemchuzhny was built in 1982 and it’s a young and modern place in our region. This year we will celebrate its 35th anniversary. It’s rather a big place, over 6000 people live here. There are advantages and disadvantages of living in the country. Of course, large city has a lot to offer: cimemas, theatres, exhibitions, sport palaces and other. There is always something to do in the city. But I have never regretted that I live in the country. Here you can be close to nature, feel freedom having free time outdoors, and moreover, our place is not far from town Baranovichi and it takes only 20 minutes to get to the town. So we never feel isolated from surrounding modern world. Here we have all basic and modern services: post-office, a secondary school, hospital, two kindergartens, place of Culture, gym, café and restaurant, several shops….practically all a person need in his everyday life. Moreover, more and more houses with modern conveniences are build for living for its inhabitants. I think that the main attraction of my native place lies in the fact it combines a friendly country atmosphere with a beautiful setting.

I won’t say that everything is perfect here. There are not many possibilities for getting well-paid job though there are two enterprises (предприятия) in it:

The Poultry factory ‘’Druzhba’’ and the Pig-keeping complex ‘Eastern’. In this sphere its need improving…I think. But in year to year Zhemchuzhny becomes even more beautiful. Even the name of our place means ‘pearl’, and sure the place where people live in reflects their character and personality. I like our society here, most people in my township are determined, hard-working, optimistic and open-hearted.
