My future profession
I study at North Caucasus State Technical University. I am a second-year student of the Power, Mechanical Engineering and Transport Department. My specialization is Electric Power Systems and Circuits. The faculty of Electronics and Power Engineering was established in 1972. Specialists are trained by several leading departments. The faculty is engaged in training highly qualified engineers in several specialties.
All the graduate-training departments have the opportunity of training full-time and parе-time post-graduates of the highest qualification. After graduating from the University I would like to work in the electric power industry. I hope that I will be able to become a highly qualified and experienced specialist in this field and I will manage to put my erudition and skills into practice.
My specialization deals with all possible ways and means of electricity supply, it covers manу different terms and notions, which are connected with this field, the main of which is the term electricity.
Although, due to its physical characteristics, electricity flows along all available paths, it follows the path of least resistance. Consequently, the flow of electricity within the electric power system must be closely monitored to ensure that sufficient generating capacity is available to satisfy the demand or load for it. For purposes of reliability and standardization, the flow of electricity within the system is maintained at a frequency of 50 cycles per second. Transmission and distribution lines and associated facilities are used to transmit electricity from its origin (the generator) to the ultimate consumer. Because of the fact that electricity cannot be stored, it must be generated, transmitted to the consumer, and consumed instantaneously. Electric utility companies were formed to provide these services. Electric utilities are high-investment businesses.
