The In The Continuum (Vol.1 No.1 pg.1 1973) version of this ritual is often called the Thelemic Banishing Ritual because Crowley added in an affirmation to identify Aiwass with the heart center.' Crowley has sternly stated that "Those who regard this ritual as a mere device to invoke or banish spirits, are unworthy to possess it.
