Friendly Statements

Friendly statements are pronounced with the nuclear Low Rising tone and a high-pitched pre-nuclear part (Normal or High pre-head, High Level or Stepping head). Utterances with this intonation pattern lack the definiteness and finality of Falling tunes and the implicatory note of the Falling-Rising ones. They sound warm and lively.

The intonation of parentheses.

When the speaker doesn’t attact any importance to the parenthetical word at all do not form a separate intonation-group and are often instressed and are pronounced very quickly. If the speaker attaches more importance to parentheses, they form an intonation-group. In this case they are stressed and are pronounced with any nuclear tone: Low Fall, Low Rise, Mid Level, Fall Rise.
In the middle or at the end of the sentence parenthetical words and phrases are generally pronounced as the instressed or half stressed tail of the preceding intonation-group.

The intonation of non-final parts of utterances.
In a sentence contains enumeration, all non-final intonation-groups are usually pronounced with the how-rise being a bit lower than the preceding one. The final intonation-group is pronounced with the low-rise of the choice of enumeration is exhausted.

The intonation of reporting phrases and reported speech.
