	CAUTION
It must be ensured that the system is in a safe condition before carrying out any work on the agitator

	WARNING
Before all maintenance work and/or troubleshooting either - completely disconnect agitator from mains or - switch off and shut switch into OFF position.

	CAUTION
Work on electrical equipment should only be carried out by authorized personnel (e.g. company electricians)

CAUTION

The relevant laws, accident prevention regulations and recognized technical regulations for safe and specialized work with this agitator should be observed This includes using protective equipment such as helmets, shoes, protective goggles and gloves Special safety measures should be taken when a container in which a poisonous or corrosive product has been processed needs to be entered(protective clothing, breathing apparatus).

	WARNING
For pressurized pipes: Never use pipes as handles or for attaching lifting tools In the event of leaks or ruptures, liquid escaping at high pressure can pierce the skin and cause poisoning, injury or death.

	CAUTION
Do not use containers, pipes or the agitator lantern as climbing aids Use a safe working platform

	CAUTION
Structural installations (monitoring, pressure supply, cooling water supply etc.) should be separated from the agitator

	WARNING
For pressurized containers: Check for leaks when starting up. There is a risk of hot, toxic or corrosive materials escaping

	DANGER
for containers with lids: the agitator must only be operated when the container lid is closed and secured. The operator must ensure that the agitator can not be operated when a container opening is open for open containers: the operator must ensure by means of suitable safety measures that any contact with circulating agitator parts is impossible (there is a risk of being pulled in)

	CAUTION
Never work inside containers without supervision

CAUTION

Explosive atmosphere must not occur at hot machine or installation parts Process conditions, such as when the vessel is heated, result in agitator components (gasket, mounting flange, agitator shaft, impellers) and vessel internals also reaching the process temperature. Appropriate additional explosion protection measures must therefore be taken, e.g. allowing sufficient time for cooling to take place

CAUTION

High-temperature processes result in heating of the shaft as far as the upper section of the agitator There is a risk of damage to the 0 rings if the buffer fluid is drained from the sliding ring seals too early or sliding ring seals are pulled onto hot shafts There is a risk of corrosion of bearings and bushing guides if attempts are made to pull sliding ring seals away from hot shafts or pull them onto hot shafts Before beginning work, let the container cool down so the shaft temperature directly above the seal is at most 20° C above ambient temperature

	DANGER
A suspension device does not seal the container! When dismantling the upper part of the agitator, vapour can escape from the container If the container contains poisonous or corrosive product, it must be emptied and cleaned before continuing.

	CAUTION
Do not carry out any work inside the container when the shaft is suspended

	DANGER
Particular attention should be paid to identifying "invisible hazards’’ which can arise from dismantling parts which have been in contact with the product if this is toxic or corrosive. The operator must take every precaution to eliminate any hazards.

	DANGER
The underside of the seal and the top of the suspension device can be contaminated with product — if necessary provide protective equipment and cleaning measures

In the presence of other interfaces between agitator and structural installation:

	CAUTION
Observe safety measures for handling the other subsystems, e.g, depressurising pipes before separating them

Prior to all troubleshooting either - fully disconnect the agitator from the power supply or - switch off the agitator and lock the switch
